Case Review of Flashforge Guider 3 Plus

In assembly line production, plants often need to adapt customized equipment to the actual working conditions.  Traditional production processes are often based on CNC technology. However, with the development of 3D printing technology, more and more factories are using 3D printers to produce customized parts. The primary reason for adopting 3D printing technology is its ability to reduce manufacturing costs and enable faster delivery.

Here we would like to present a case study from a consumables factory using the Guider 3 Plus to retrofit exhaust air exhaust ducts.

The consumables factory originally installed standard exhaust air exhaust ducts. However, after combining the real-use situation, it was found that the exhaust duct opening was larger than the optimal distance from the production line exhaust gas discharge, which was difficult to meet the production demand. Hence, the consumables factory decides to lengthen the ventilation duct for modification.

The initial solution takes CNC (galvanized sheet metal) fabricator for custom ventilation ducting. Since this is a custom-made part, production costs $300-$400 per piece, lead time is over 4 days. After considering about delivery period, the factory finally planned to use 3D printing technology to complete this duct modification.

Considering the durability of long-term use, PA66-CF filament (nylon carbon fiber material, high resistance in both temperature and corrosion) is applied. Using Flashforge professional 3D printer Guider 3 Plus as the production equipment, the final printing time is 58 hours and can be installed and put into use. The production period directly saves 24h and doubles the efficiency.

The factory told us that the Guider 3 Plus prints nylon carbon fiber consumables with satisfactory results. Fast and stable printing can greatly reduce time and also save more than 50% in production costs.
