PLA vs ABS
PLA vs ABS
PLA-VS-ABS-1
PLA vs ABS in print temperature
For successful ABS printing, makers need to use a 3D printer with heatable print bed and with enclosed chamber. ABS printing requires 90-95°C set on heating bed and keeps the chamber temperature at 30-40°C, while PLA printing is much easier. Printing garage kits or prototypes, PLA filament is a good choice.
PLA-VS-ABS-2
PLA vs ABS in stress resistance
PLA is not as strong or durable as ABS. If you need strong and durable parts for end use in practical scene to withstand a lot of wear and tear, ABS filament is the way to go.
PLA-VS-ABS-3
PLA vs ABS in print odor
PLA, made from renewable resources that are more environmentally friendly than ABS, has nearly no odor emitted when printing, while ABS printing gives off some unpleasant odor. Flashforge 3D printers have enclosed chamber and air filters inside to better handle that odor.
